Immersed Games helps teachers engage their students in actively doing science, by providing a video game that empowers students to directly explore science phenomena and solve authentic problems. For example, students work with a botanist to solve a food shortage while learning about genetics, or they investigate why a seal is sick to uncover a microplastics problem that must be addressed. Basically, Tyto Online helps empower students as they experience what it’s like to “do” science. We’re designed for middle school with the new three-dimensional science standards, and are designed with strategies to engage marginalized students in STEM.
We are a small, multidisciplinary team that is excited to help build a generation of scientifically passionate and literate students, and our work has been supported by grants from the National Science Foundation and Department of Education. We’re looking for team members enthusiastic about this mission to work alongside us.
Your role can be summed up as: working with our Founder & CEO to establish and validate our sales process beyond Founder Sales, growing our revenues for financial sustainability.
We are an early stage startup, so you’ll be our first Sales role (besides our Founder/CEO), and will work directly with her. We’re looking for an experienced sales rep that can hit the ground running and making sales in an early stage startup! You’ll have the opportunity to help us grow the Sales/Marketing team, and collaborate across the organization with our Customer Success and Design/Product teams, based on the feedback you provide from the sales process.
Additional responsibilities we can determine together, such as whether you would want to participate in conventions and conduct product demonstrations versus having the Customer Success team join for these activities. Your work will be critical in building our early sales traction, providing feedback to the Product/Implementation teams on what features may drive more adoptions, and working towards financial sustainability of the company.
Location. Our team is based in Buffalo, NY and most of our team works together locally. However, this role is not required to be based here and can work remotely. We are most focused on the best fit. But if you want to work out of our Buffalo office, we’d be thrilled to set you up with an office here with us!

Salary: Negotiable based on a mix of salary, commission, and equity stock options.

Right now, we help our employees with the process of using the ACA Marketplace, and are looking forward to growing our sales so that we can afford to give our employees everything they deserve.
We’re a small team, so we focus on making our collaboration as productive as possible, with minimal meetings disrupting your flow. We have weekly meetings for each team to collaborate and set goals and bi-monthly full team meetings to go over larger business objectives.
We’re flexible to the needs of our staff with an open, communicative environment where everyone has access to everyone else on the team. We value everyone’s feedback and ideas, since critical insights can come from anywhere. Nothing is unchangeable, and anything/anyone can be questioned!
